What to do before the Master of Business Administration ?

Hi, everybody... I am a moroccan student who would like to study in the USA after graduating in high school. Well, my desire to go there burns me because I love Pure Mathematics and also the renowned of American universities.

Well, I would like to opt for a undergraduate business program. I'll take the TOEFL this year. My mathematical abilities are highest at school, I always help people in Mathematics in the Homework forum and at school.

So, I just want to know if I have any chance to get into a business school as an international student... And I would like to know if I have made the good choices according the the studies I want to do. A program that will allow me to do an MBA after.

Thank you in advance.

You can study whatever your heart desires in undergraduate school and still pursue an MBA afterward. I have a bachelor’s degree in psychology and I am looking at MBA programs with concentrations in marketing (consumer behavior primarily, seeing as how this relies heavily on social psychology). From what I’ve seen usually around 40-50% of students have business degrees going into an MBA; at some schools that number is lower. Many others have liberal arts and science degrees.

Many good MBA programs require at least 2 years of full-time work after undergrad before applying to their programs. This gives you some “real world” experience to talk about in the classroom. It does not have to relate to business management, either. An MBA program is for those who want to advance their positions in a company, and you can have that desire in any job. I’m working as a human resources leader at a department store right now, and I moved up into that position very quickly. They do consider (from what admissions counselors have told me) how quickly you advance in your job, as well.

Thank you for this informations and for taking the time to tell me about your experience ;)
