what to do if I have too many credits... please offer advice

I'm currently attending a four year state university and I have been looking forward to moving since my sophomore year.... I'm currently finishing my junior year.

I switched majors couple semesters ago and working towards my degree. I currently have about 80 credits.... and add another year of credits after more courses this upcoming fall and spring, bringing me to over 100 credits.... but not all towards my degree as I switched my major couple times and took random electives.

I'm going to apply to schools for Fall 2006 admission during early part of 2006 which is not for another year

However, if I stay just another year here at this university after Fall 2005 and Spring 2006, I'll have my degree in 2007.... but it's not what I want. I can tell I'll be jobless and probably coming back to school

How do schools view this? I really do not want to graduate from here or with this degree... I want to transfer just the transferable courses and major in what I really want to do.... my school actually does not even offer the degree I want... similar degrees but not exact.

I'm getting older and kind of getting worried as I'm pressed for time...

Perhaps take this fall off and apply for Spring 06?

Most schools, definitely the more prestigeous ones will tell you to finish your undergrad where you are and apply for graduate school. Which isn't a bad idea. No school will take more than 75 credits transfered, and most won't even look at applications of people with more than 80.
