Making a long story short I'm currently at CC and wouldn't be able to start at any school that isn't local until 2009. I have two years of credits under my belt and nothing to do other than sit on my thumbs for the next year or so. The CC I attend has an excellent record of placing AAS students and after hearing all the stories of my friends being more than able to support themselves in a field I'm interested in on part-time salaries and I've thought about taking on a double major as well as 30 or so undoubtedly non-transferable credits. I've also heard horror stories of students having too many credits to get into any school worth it's salt. Do any of you think this is going to hurt me? I really don't have anything else to worry about GPA and SAT score-wise.

i think all of your CC credits will transfer to any school because they are general education classes. some classes might ultimately not count if they are classes related to your major because schools like having their own professors teach and grade you on the subject but they will still be consider when the schools are looking at your application to transfer.

having tooo many credits might be an issue. there are some schools, like most university of california campus, where there is a credit limit and if you are over that limit then they will not consider you for admission even if you say you don't want to count those units. but you should call the admission office of the schools you want to apply to and see if they have a credit cap.

i hope this helped
