What to do if sick?

I've been extremely sick lately, and especially nauseous in the mornings. Im in no shape to take the AP Lit test tomorrow, but if there's no time I can take it, I'll probably try anyway.

If you vomit on the exam, you can get out and have that scored. So you could take it, finish it, and trow up on it if you feel like it to get a quick exit without waiting for the true end of the exam.

Talk to your school to see if they're willing to give you the late test. Late tests are the (17th? and) 18th and 19th.

wait kman, I didnt quite understand what you were saying.

Someone told me it's better not to take the test than to have a low grade
I have also been sick and am considering opting out, what are your thoughts?

I am sick as well. I took the day off from school today in order to try to catch up on some sleep and rest up. I think it definitely has helped a lot. I would suggest taking a day off before you decide anything. You would be surprised how much better you feel after sleep and rest. I have my u.s history exam on friday and chemistry on wenesday. I think i will be in shape to take them. I would try to take them unless you are a complete mess.

WARNING. do not take any medication that might make you drowsy during the test!!

Same here Nicole, I'm losing my voice, and my nose is so stuffed up, I couldn't even get up today till like 12, and I slept pretty early last night. I've just been too tired.

So how does this work, you don't show up and call the school that morning? Will they automatically comply? It's just me and this other girl taking the chemistry exam, I'm thinking about doing this . . .

Talk to your school NOW, do not wait. Make-up exams are possible, but there's an extra fee and your school would need to have someone to proctor the exam on the late date so it's really up to them. They might say sure and they might say no way.

I would assume that a doctors note, at a minuimum would be required to do anything

Cough cough, I am sick, just won't cut it to just go, sure, take it a week after everybody else

You need a note from a real doctor saying you're too sick to take the test -- see earlier thread "sick on AP day"

Well, I can guarantee you I'm sick enough to get a doctor's note. Without going into detail, I'm having a flareup of an ongoing condition, and the antibiotic my doctor prescribed to fight it is causing a violent reaction which has rendered me unable to digest anything for the past 72 hours.

That said, it doenst sound like my school is going to accomodate any make ups examers, and I sure as hell can COUNT on them to. I really wnat a 5, because the University of Texas said they'd actually record an A in their Lit class for me ratehr than just give me the 3 hours and no grade. I got a 5 last year, but all bets are off this year with the way I'm feeling.

My tentative plan is to take the test anyway, probably run to the bathroom and puke once during the test, then come back and finish. I'll probably get around a 3, and I can use that to just get my hours without any grade attached. It sucks, but if I dont take the test tomorrow, I'll probably never get to.
