I am not sure what classes to take... I would like to go to college to be a future psychiatrist. I have applied at a couple places majoring in medicine and miniioring in psych. is that the right choice?

There isn’t actually a “pre-medicine” or a “medicine” major, as you’ve stated in the OP. You go to medical school to learn about medicine, and college to learn about whatever the hell you want. In order to apply to medical school, you must complete a number of pre-requisite classes and achieve a minimum grade of a “C” or higher. Of course, most successful applicants have grades in the “A” range. Anyway, as for your major, you can major in whatever you want, so long as you manage to complete your pre-requisites and MCAT exam (along with many other EC’s that the average applicant will have at this point) by the time you apply. Since you seem to like Psychology, I would go for a major in that, since “medicine” isn’t exactly a real major.

There are a few schools with pre-medical studies programs and “medicine” sounding majors like biomedicical informatics blah blah blah. I would major in psych given the choice between pre-medical studies and psych.
