What to do when they ask you about your summer...but you were injured

So say someone breaks an arm or sprains an ankle and can't do much during the summer. What should he/she do on their application if there's a question like "describe your last summer"? Would he/she explain the injury and write what he/should would have done if the injury didn't happen?

Tell them about the injury - you don't need to use it as an excuse - use it to describe something you learned (either about yourself or others or whatever). If you want, if you had other plans, tell them about your disappointment over not being able to do those things.

yo ushould do something anyways. my friend tore her acl this summer, got surgery, and volunteered regardless. just a thought though.
