What to do with my decision?

I have a really difficult decision to make, and I already made one wrong choice. I'm trying to decide what school to transfer to. I am going into my second year of school in a community college in chico after hating my freshman year experience at SFSU. I came here because I absolutely love the small college town environment, but I'm afraid transferring to CSU Chico because of its bad reputation as a party school, even with its new good reputation for great programs. I am studying mass communication design, which isn't one of its most well known programs, but I just love the area so much. I am also considering Hood College in Frederick,MD ( I would need $100,000 loan), Towson university in Towson, MD (would need loans), UC Santa Cruz (not the perfect major program for me), and CSU Northridge (I don't like the area it's in, and I have unwanted history with the campus). Im stuck. Help. Suggestions welcome.

CSU Chico is a perfectly good choice. Some of the majors there are very strong, I don’t know about Communications. I wouldn’t give a second thought to party reputation or not. There are kids who party and those who don’t at every school. You make your own choice about what you do. Kids who party are not necessarily bad students. My sister who is very successful graduated from there and she had her share of partying. But you will find plenty of regular students and honors students there. I’m sure there are plenty of party people at your CC.

You sound like you are letting yourself get distracted by unimportant things. After the first two years of college you will be deeply into your major and associating with people who are interested and focused on those studies. Sticking to business and getting your degree is what is important. Sometimes you just have to make it through a semester or year, or a teacher you don’t like and move on to the next year.

Considering $100,000 in loans shows a complete lack of awareness and you should be thankful that you won’t be allowed to ruin your future because no one will loan you that amount of money.
