What to do....?

So I have my SATs next week and I haven't been preparing that much. I've taken maybe two practice tests and studied about 150 vocab words. My first score last summer was an 1860, which went up to a 1900, and then back down to an 1898. I really would like to go to Barnard and NYU but with these scores...I'm not so sure. Should I be panicking at this point? My plan is to just take them again in October just in time for Early Decision anyway....I have hope right? I can probably make it to a 2100 over the summer if I work tirelessly?

Absolutely. Good luck on Saturday.

1898!!! well don’t think you can get 2100 if you srsly got a “1898” once… lol… harsh but true sorry…

I disagree. Just keep working effectively. I stress effectively because it’s absolutely pointless studying things you already know. Being that time is somewhat running short, you need to get the key concepts that may be unfamiliar to you.

I’m taking it on Saturday as well. Best of luck!

P.S. It’s impossible to get an 1898 on the SAT. It’s scored in intervals of 10.

“It’s impossible to get an 1898 on the SAT. It’s scored in intervals of 10.” lol!
Ok sorry, but don’t you find your statement rather self-contradictory? Yes, it is scored in intervals of 10. That’s why you can’t get that 1898… you can get 1890 or 1900… srsly bro… “intervals of 10” you know as in “count by ten” :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: no room for a number other than zero in the last digit then

Thanks for all of the replies! Good luck to all on Saturday as well.
However, who else thinks I would have enough time to prep and drill everything needed and really bump my score up by October?

2200andbeyondXD: Now I’m confused…isn’t that exactly what MrSquiggums said?

Lol anyway…I think you could definitely bump your score up by October. Find your weakest sections and target them, and keep at it, and I’m sure it’ll go up!

I’m a bit worried though; you’re taking the SAT 5 times. I’m pretty sure Barnard requires you to send all of your scores (not sure about NYU), so taking it so many times might not send a great message…

Oh…lol! I read it “It’s POSSIBLE…” lol… ok my bad…
Anyway… now the kid knows why it’s impossible…

Hope you do well in October…
Yes you have all the time you need. even waaay more than enough…
Just try to do actual tests from CB for practice… and score them properly to know where you stand…
Learn from your mistakes… understand every question you got wrong, and make sure you NEVER redo them…
If you are facing any trouble with a problem or sth, just post it here… may be we can help out… You’ll sure find advice.
Practice as often as possible, and you’re good to go, basically.

@OrchidBloom: Oh, naah I’ve only taken practice tests…not the actual test! Tomorrow will be the first time!

@2200andbeyondXD: Thank you so much for your reply! I actually feel a lot better now…and I surely will be posting questions. :)

bumpppppppp
