right now I am a senior at a small high school in Iowa, and I have one semester left for high school. I have enough credits to graduate but I am taking 5 college classes to wipe out 15 credits out of my way. I have been accepted into North Carolina Wesleyan in Rocky Mount, NC and I am fully committed to going there. I will also be playing baseball for them. I would just like some advice on what to expect, will i get homesick? I am going to be majoring in Accounting and minoring in Business Administration. My sister lives in Georgia only about 6 hours away, which will help a little, but ive never really been away from home ACTUALLY on my own! I just dont know what to expext. Any suggestions, tips, etc. will really help! Thanks.

This is a funny place for this thread. Still…

You never know. My neighbors daughter went to Alabama (from Cincinnati) and hated her first semester. Her dad, who is a wise man, told her if she gave it a fair chance and didn’t like it after a year that she should come home. That was 4 years ago. She is graduating this spring and is not coming back.

Change is always scary, and that is mostly because it is unfamiliar. If you let the fear consume you then you probably won’t like it. You will be miserable, but that won’t because of homesickness or loneliness, it will be because you already decided it sucked long before it even started sucking. Fear is faith that the devil is right. Go play basketball, and have fun. A lot of other people will be in your boat.
