Going on a tour soon and am just curious what it is like. Do you only stay on one campus or do you go to the Evansville and health science one? Taking the prt would be awesome
I’m not sure if you already toured, but if not…
Yes, you go to Evansdale. They’ve added a lot to that campus and I’m sure they will want to show it off to prospective students. I’m not sure about Health Sciences. I believe you can ride the PRT when you are on your own. If you look at the WVU.edu website there may be more info. I know my daughter was able to go to a Forensics presentation and meet with a professor during the first tour. If your major is in Health Sciences I would think you would tour there. You can always call, email, tweet, or post on Facebook to Admissions. They respond quickly. Good luck!
I know that this is 1 year later, but we are just off a 1/13/16 tour.
You can call the Visitors Center ahead of your scheduled tour to schedule a meeting with an advisor from your area of interest. The advisor meeting will take place just prior to, or just after your tour. At check-in at the Visitors Center, you will be provided with directions and a parking pass if needed.
The tour is 2-1/2 hours long. You will be driven to many stops on a WVU charter bus with a group of fellow prospective students and family members. The tour group size is set to the amount of people that the bus can hold. We had 2 tour guides with us the entire time, a male and a female. They showed us the entire campus, to include an extremely nice suite style dorm in the Lincoln Hall. The guides point out for everybody, where the building for their major is located and where most classes for that major will be.
This is a very comprehensive tour where you will have plenty of time to ask questions and get inside information.
We did not get to ride the awesome PRT monorail, but we could see it zipping around as we toured.
The campus is huge. …This coming from an Aggie mom, (Texas A& M). Evansdale is the modern campus and Downtown is the classical, historic building campus. It seemed that the Law School and Health Sciences was in between?
For those who have not seen this campus in person, it reminded me of the University of Pittsburgh Campus, with the addition of the Evansdale Campus. Evansdale is amazing/impressive, and the Downtown campus is beautiful.
I thought that the tour was going to be 1 hour and about fell out of my chair when they announced that it was 2-1/2 hours long. It was well worth the time.
