I am going into my junior year of high school and I know I might still have some time to decide but I have no idea what I want major in. I want to do something productive but I still want to do something a like. Some of the topics I am interested in are not very good majors or jobs to pursue. I want to do something creative but one that will help me later on. Some include advertising, graphic design, psychology research and tv writing. Any suggestions and ideas?

You still have many years ahead of you to decide. As you start taking more advanced courses, you will be able to narrow down your choice depending on how well you like a particular class. Even the jump between a high school class you really like and a similar college class is a gigantic one. For instance, I came out of high school loving chemistry and intending to major in chemistry, but one horrible professor changed all that. There’s also a thread on here that discusses the importance of professors in influencing a student’s major choice. Relax and wait until you’ve had a little more experience under your belt - that in itself will help you decide.

Thank you that was very helpful I appreciated it.

I agree that you don’t have to figure it all out now. There’s time to do that once you get to college. Just make sure you go somewhere that has programs to help you determine the best major for you.
