I am considering getting an internship as a financial analyst in hedge funds. Which of the following do you think is the best combination?

1) Econ major + math minor
2) Econ major + stats minor
3) Math major + econ minor
4) Stats major + econ minor

Or do you think some other combination is even better? Please tell me why you think so.

You want to pick your major to get an internship? Shouldn’t it be the other way around?

Most all of your major and minor combos are completely different studies.

Well I originally considered econ major + math or stats minor, but then after going to a career fair, some company representatives tells me that they prefer math/stats majors to econ majors, and because i haven’t officially declared my major yet, i still have the chance to switch.

Major in what you’re interested in, not what someone tells you to. Having math courses is good, but that doesn’t mean you have to major or minor in math.
