In regards to health issues, is it a bad idea to mention anything; is it considered a liability? I know enough not to talk about depression at all, and I briefly mention an eating disorder (counselor said it was either that or write an entire supplemental essay), but what about actual medical conditions? I had open-heart surgery this past summer, so could they hold that against me, thinking that I might need to drop out or something?

you don't have to reveal anything to them at all if you don't want to, health information is confidential. If you think it will help your case or is something the college needs to know, put it down. Otherwise, don't.

Well, if the surgery was successful, I can't see it still being a factor.
