What to wear

I’m from California and I have heard that what people wear in the west coast is different from what people wear in the east coast. I was wondering what type of clothes/ brands do most BU students wear?

Yes, it’s true! Haha I’m from California myself and I think that the people on the east coast dress preppier but I’m not really sure about the brand… Don’t worry about buying that kind of clothes until you get there. Your friends will show you the ropes and where to get that kind of clothes. I will say during the winter that most people wear Northface jackets.

Thank you!

There are so many people from so many different places that even if you have “Cali Fashion” you won’t look odd or different. Everyone dresses beautifully in their own styles. So don’t worry about anything at all  Dress the way you like to dress. And as Alectricity said, your new friends at BU will show you the ropes. (Newbury Street is amazing to shop at. It has great stores like Urban Outfitters, Forever 21, H&M, Madewell, LF, American Apparel, etc)

Yeah I’m from California and going to a New England college and they do dress a little differently, but wear what you want no one really cares. You won’t stick out like a sore thumb if you do I promise :)

what brands you wear doesn’t really matter… i would be more concerned about the type of clothes you wear… its a lot colder here (obviously) its starts to get cold starting mid october and lasts until late march early april… basically the whole school year. also it rains a lot. i would highly recommend rain boots, a rain jacket, and warm coats and jackets… which you could buy in boston once school starts so you shouldn’t worry too much. & did I mention that the massachusetts sales tax is half of cali’s tax? :)
