The only school that I know is not need-blind is brown, meaning that people who can pay full tuition have an advantage. Anyone else know of a top 40 school per-say that is not need-blind?

pretty sure northeastern is

Top 40? Many!

Brown University is the only Ivy league school to be need-aware for transfers.

I would also check UCLA and UC Berkeley.

Need blind and meet need are different things. I’m guessing the OP is looking for schools that meet need. No UC does.

I believe the OP is asking about need-aware (not need blind), not schools that meet 100% of need.

So… are there any other top schools that put an advantage over you if you don’t apply for financial aid??

@YeastDNA: UCLA and UC Berkeley are need-blind.

Does not applying for financial aid actually make a significant difference at Brown? Does anyone have statistics or experiences that might help answer this question?

I don’t have statistics, but I’m pretty sure Brown’s need-based policy does give applicants who opt out of financial aid a greater chance of getting in.

I didn’t apply for fin aid at Brown and was accepted.

Brown '12

akunamatatta,

Would you mind posting your stats? Also did you apply as a sophomore or junior and for spring or for the fall? Congrats on getting in!
