What type of grades do you need to get accepted as a transfer?

I'm currently a student at the University of New Hampshire but I would prefer to be at a small college and I think I want to go to the University of the South..so what type of grades do you need to get in?

my high school GPA was terrible..like 2.6

I'm a first semester college freshman and I believe I should get four A's and one C this term. Think I could get in?

btw I'm from the northeast if that gives me any type of advantage and I won't need financial aid

Since no one has replied I’ll give you my two cents. I really do believe not needing the financial aid will give your application a boost- Sewanee is pretty generous in that regard; I assume they have to balance the budget somehow! 4 A’s and a C should certainly make you a strong candidate. I know a girl who transferred from Bucknell and St. Olafs this year, but I’m uncertain how they stood academically. If you can make a strong case for REALLY wanting to be there, that will make all the difference. The admissions office really looks for students who show demonstrated interest (all communication between staff and prospies are recorded). Sorry I couldn’t offer more!

Hi! I got accepted as a transfer and got a lot of financial aid, with a 3.4 college freshman year gpa at a rigorous school, and my high school gpa was like a 3.7 unweighted. My sat scores were low… like 1760 and i got a 29 ACT. Good luck!

@eboyette94 - congratulations. I know that Sewanee is test optional. Did you choose to submit your scores?
