What type of housing should I apply for If I want to live alone in a bedroom and shar

Either this is a joke, or I am terribly worried about you, Splintercell50. Most incoming students have anxiety - but yours is taking you over. Do you have counseling available at your high school?

well splintercell, thank you for insulting my gender...

you've got some serious issues to work out before you get here....either find someone to talk to or maybe you should consider going to another college.

I know that I have just insulted you (for good reason), but I have your best interest in mind when I give you this advice: Stay home. This is the ONLY place that will accomadate all your demands.

Dorming is a major change for EVERYBODY and EVERYBODY is forced to make adjustments to their lifestyle. However it seems like you are really adament about maintaining your current lifestyle, so I really recommend that you just go to a college near your house. Or at least to a place where you can live off campus.

God damn you need to get a life bro.

Well thanks for the help guys. I am pretty sure I know what I want to do now.

Oh and dewdrop, I didn't insult your gender, well at least I did not intend to. I was simply saying how some of them can be quite possessive and obsessive.

So are you planning on staying to a school next to home? Now I won't have to worry about seeing you in classes.

Be honest Splintercell. Has a girl ever even come close to obsessing over you? Wanting your homework doesn't count.

Asking for your calculator before a test doesn't count either, sorry.

Okay kids, let's be nice to Splintercell. I am certain he will make a fine addition to campus. And I think it's actually better that he will be at Cornell rather than NYU due to the stronger support systems on campus.

possessive and obsessive? you are the one OBSESSING over stupid meaningless issues for next year.

Chill out laurstar07. He's a little paranoid. There were plenty of kids like him in my high school.

I bet he'll be pretty acclimated after living at Cornell for a month or 2.

I hope not all of my fellow Cornell class of 2012 are like this but
splintercell, you've got to chill out.
Yes, you might have to share a bathroom
Yes, you might even have to share a bedroom (with 2 people even!)
But believe me, you will get used to it and
When you're working in a soul-crushing 200k a year job (you seem to be pretty concerned with money), you'll miss the days when you shared bedrooms and bathrooms. You'll miss the days when your roomate sexiled you or did something else disgusting. You'll miss the days when you slipped on something nasty on the bathroom floor.
College is a big part of growing up, and unless you are commuting, dorm life is a big part of growing up. Try to enjoy it.

stern = better internships + more money + living at home + prestige + the city = happiness

incidentally I got accepted to Stern but chose Cornell A&S : l

Stern -> Crippling debt + no campus = yay cornell

ha

I have to take issue with the above comment. I usually don't engage in debates on this forum, but I think the OP is confused enough and is also a prestige snob, so your comment will cause more angst.

Here's my take on your argument. I'm not an expert, but I have my undergraduate business degree from Cornell, Wharton MBA and I've been a guest speaker at Stern. What is your academic experience rohansing2?

Again, my opinion only:

"stern = better internships" -disagree
"more money" - disagree
"living at home" - agree - in Splintercell's case - I think it's a great choice
"prestige" - disagree
"the city = happiness" - I'm neutral on this, it's a personal choice.

Edit: I assumed by "prestige" you meant "more prestige" which I disagree with. I do agreed that Stern has excellent "prestige", and you would get a fabulous education there.

Also, when you said "more money"- in a previous post, Splintercell mentioned that he couldn't go to NYU because they weren't giving him enough money, which is why I disagreed. If you meant earning potential, then I also disagree that a Stern education gives you more earning potential - its the same as Cornell.

haha, stern sucks compared to Cornell but it would be scary if splintercell comes to Cornell and what if he does random roommates like me and then there would be a 1 in a 1000 chance of him rooming with me and I just don't like those odds...lol
I am an ED applicant myself...

Rohan, what school are you in? CAS?

Also, are you Indian b/c your screen name vsounds Indian. I am just asking.

@Splintercell50.....I'm going to have to agree with rohansingh2, Stern would be great for you. I mean do you really want to go to SUNY ILR, you'll be disowned by your family. Stern is a top five undergraduate business school. Anyways if you choose not to go, may I ask what you put for your preferences on your housing app?

no splintercell, I am in SUNY Human Ecology...I know I know...it sucks..My mom cried for two hours straight when I told her I was going there...
and yes, I am Indian..lol
