Unprotected sex is an issue, but I have never done that. I always carry condoms so that helps. Plus I don’t hook up with guys much. If the people you are around take videos of you and put them up for everyone to see, you need better friends. Only drink around people who you are comfortable with, especially when you’re just starting out. There are risks, but everything in life has risks. Furthermore, the scenarios you mentioned are not “very common.” I don’t know many people who those have happened to, although I know it does occur. It’s pretty rare that that would happen.

It’s also not like you take a sip of alcohol and go completely insane.

If those things happen anymore often than 1 time in 100 (but preferably 1000), I don’t want to get drunk. (for reference, the odds of dying in a car crash in your life is 1 in 100, and the odds of dying while skydiving is 1 in 100,000).

I don’t. My logic surrounding drinking is just different, but I respect yours. Using your logic, you shouldn’t drink. That is what would be good for you.

It depends on if you use protection or not for STDs.

I haven’t been to a frat party since I’ve been at school. I’ve had plenty of other fun though; you don’t need frats. Go to a club, go to a show, hang out with your friends and just do random things, walk around town, etc. If you want to get drunk, you can do it in your rooms with your friends and then go do anything, and it’ll be fun (but that’s illegal so don’t do it, right?). Go to house parties if you know someone with a house. There’s always some kind of party going on that will appeal to you. It’s your choice. It’s really up to you how much fun you have. Greek life is not a necessity to have fun at college.

onamatapia, the more you say the more you sound like a ■■■■■, but in the off chance that you’re not:

drinking, and getting pretty drunk, is something that you can do very safely if you are a reasonable person. It’s not like you take 3 drinks and all the sudden lose all sense of reason and inhibition. Until you’re dangerously drunk you can think perfectly straight, or at least I find that I can.

How exactly do I sound like a ■■■■■, lol? I’m just scared of doing something I regret. And I’m also terrified of becoming an alcoholic, because my dad is an alcoholic, his dad was an alcoholic before he died, and his dad’s dad was likely one too. Plus, my mom’s brother and my mom’s mom are both semi-alcoholics.

onamatapia- Sorry but this needs to be said. YOU’RE 15 YEARS OLD! You have no fing clue what you’re talking about and you should go back to the hsl forum.
