Strongly seconded. There are some pretty big differences between the two including size (Michigan is twice as large), athletics, and temperature (219 sunny days for UVA, 178 sunny days for Michigan, UVA average January temp is 24-44F, UM average January temp is 17-30F).

I don’t think you understand how McIntire is setup. It has its own full-time tenured faculty. It’s not the JV team for Darden. With the focus soley on undergrads I think there is great potential for a better undergrad experience and smaller classes and more attention. You don’t need to be a rocket scientist to teach undergrad busienss and they place as much weight on real world experience as research which I think is a plus for undergrads just out to learn the basics and get a good job.

If you are a New Yorker, you would be foolish to pass up Cornell-AEM at the instate price. Unfortunately, you missed the ED deadline, which would’ve been an admissions boost.

btw, OP. Why are you jerking folks around. In the first place, UVa is only RD, so unless you are a recruited athlete, you have not been accepted. In the second place, you posted different schools to which you were accepted back in April…hmmmmmm

Look into how UMich and UVa admit students into their b school. For UMich, Ross is a 3 year program, unless you have pre-admit, you apply to Ross at the end of freshman year. So you start at UMich without knowing if you would be accepted to Ross later. Don’t know about UVa. That might be a factor worth considering.

Why would they have a separate faculty? It implies a JV team, IMHO. Students may like it (i.e. No. 1 ranking for students), probably due to the softness of the teaching, but recruiters look like they can see through the smoke and mirrors (No. 52).

Lehigh has a great business school and with their strong alumni connections I’m sure it won’t be a problem to find a job post grad. Like what thickfreakness said I’m not so sure on how you got into Lehigh so early without applying Early Decision. They only have ED or ED II or Regular. Also, did you get into the UMich business school? UVA doesn’t have a business school for undergrad from what I’m aware of. They only have it for grad. I don’t know if you’re interested in majoring in Economics…

*I am predicted to recieve about 8K in various financial aid (Pell Grants, Academic Competitiveness, etc.) because my brother is going to school and is recieving about 7K in grants.

I’m not considered “low income” bc my family has around 100K saved up for college. She used to work in investment banking and make around 200K a year untill the recession and got let go(2 years ago). I at most I would need to take out a 30K loan.

ahhh…when you mentioned that you’d get a Pell grant, that sounds like low income.

It’s great that you have $100k saved for college.

It’s nice to hear that you were accepted as a transfer student. Someone else on another thread said that it’s almost impossible to transfer into Ross…but you did it. Can I ask what your stats are?

I actually go to UCONN, I have a 4.0GPA. In highschool I had a 92 average and achieved an IB diploma which is like AP. I held various leadership positions in both HS and College. I had a 1250/1600 on SAT when I took it in HS.

You say that your mom saved $100k for your college. Is that in a college-specific fund that can’t be used for other purposes? Doesn’t your family need the money for other purposes now that your mom has lost her high paying job?

She has about 40K in a college specific fund but she had around 120K in a general fund for herself so she is willing to take out 60K. In addition to this I have 10K saved up from my summer job.
