This topic deserves a thread! Match is such a big achievement that it warrants some hilarious reactions.
Anyhow, I was in fifth period when the QB email arrived. I ran out of my classroom so that I could jump up and down screaming. My teacher thought I was sick after seeing me run outside LOL! Afterward, I couldn't focus in my lessons in period 5 OR 6!! How about you guys?

I was at football practice when QuestBridge called me. So I ran off the field to take the call and my team mates also stopped playing and stared at me (they knew that I was getting the decision today). I came back and screamed “yea Stanford”. and it was amazing after that!

Roflmao!! Your team must have been so happy for you!! My classmates were so nice and happy for ms :0

I just started shaking! Then I started crying! I never thought I’d get into BROWN! I’m so humbled! Only 10 people got it!

Aw, congrats everyone! I’m not Questbridge, but just thought I’d say congrats, such a huge achievement!!

Thanks daisy! Yea, I couldn’t stop shaking and squealing for a good hour >.<

I forgot to check my e-mail throughout the day, walked to my friend’s house, got a text from my other friend saying my QB friend got matched, freaked out, walked back to school with my friend to use the library’s computers, opened my e-mail, stared at it for a few seconds, and started crying 'cause I GOT ACCEPTED HOLY AHHHH. Then, I spent the next … seven hours helping my friend revise her supplements and study for the SATs this Saturday.

I think I’m actually going to miss writing my supplements, and the sweet, sweet feeling of sending in applications for free. I had actually set myself up for rejection, and therefore felt a tiny twinge of disappointment and disbelief upon reading the e-mail’s first few words.

But holy crap, I got in.

where did you get in?

Woa, itsonmars, why are you studying for the sat still? Are you holding out for another school?

I kept checking my email throughout school…waited for a call…nothing. Came home severely discouraged. About to break down in tears. So I checked my phone with that last twinge of hope. On my phone caller ID the last call was QUEST-SCHOLARS. Couldn’t breathe at ALL. Opened up my computer immediately, saw the letter, and screamed for the longest time. Called one of my closest friends and we screamed like little girls that I got into my top school. Pounded away gibberish on Facebook with the picture of the acceptance email…then ran out my house with the best feeling in the world!!

@babylunabi, he was helping his friend study…

Throughout the whole day, I had thought that I was just going to get rejected. So if I got accepted, it would be awesome. Columbia was my number one ranked school but had not been very helpful regarding my application tracking. I had no clue if all of my materials were in, so I was just dismissing the slight chance that I might have gotten matched. I was at work and told myself that I would not check my email until I got home that night. I received the call from a random number and thought that it might be from QB. I picked up. A guy asked me if I had checked my email. I politely told him no, and he resumed by telling me I was matched with Columbia. I was literally speechless. I had no clue what to say or how to say it. I look back now and feel a little bad. I could have said a million things, but all that seemed to come out of my mouth was “I don’t believe this.” Since Ivy League policy does not allow them to officially accept me until December 8th, I still do not believe it. This is incredible. I cannot believe that I was matched with my dream school. I cannot wait to meat the other 15 Columbia match recipients.

@babylunabi - jacobo2880’s half right, half wrong. I was helping my friend study, but I’m also a girl. xD ;;; Luckily, I got into my dream school! So of course, no, I’d never hold out for another.

@rajkobie - University of Chicago! C:

(P.S. If any one of my friends reads this post and recognizes me from it, come and talk to me so we can extol the advantages of free online sources. And so that you can laugh at me for being so serious about everything.)

Also, this is kind of embarrassing, but can anyone advise me on how to “officially withdraw any and all applications to other colleges and universities”? Do I just … e-mail them?

^^ It depends on colleges.
I would just email and ask

However, I would wait untill you receive an official written statement from University of Chicago to withdraw your applications.

Just wait about a week to withdraw.

My daughter called and emailed each school to withdraw. Call admissions and ask for the adcom that specifically handles QB.
