Because my fav. film really is a movie about druggis, it's really funny though.

risky? should i leave it out?

Because my fav. film really is a movie about druggis, it's really funny though.

risky? should i leave it out?

Yes, it’s risky.

Unless you can write a really moving, motivational essay, I wouldn’t write about it or else they’ll think that you area a druggie.

If you HAVE to choose a movie, I would stick with a conventional favorite, like Rocky, a political favorite that you can explain well, like An Inconvenient Truth, or a classic, like The Sound Of Music.

no, it’s one of those short answers that asks me to list my favorite films. lol

There’s a big difference between picking Requiem for a Dream, and Half-Baked.

If your favorite book was a porn comic, would you tell a college that?

What film is it? I think it doesn’t really matter.

Trainspotting. a British cult film from 1996. :)

Trainspotting is a great film that was critically acclaimed. I doubt college admissions officers would look down on you for listing it as your favorite film.

I don’t think it’s bad if you put it as your favorite film, as long as there is a lot of substance to it that makes it worthy of being a favorite movie

I sorta disagree with OHKID… don’t put down something typical like “An Inconvenient Truth” because 1) it doesn’t set you apart and 2) it looks kind of faked if you put a movie like that down

Trainspotting is a great film. It has a lot of substance to it. I actually thought it was more sad than funny, though.

On another topic, Requiem for a Dream is gut-wrenching. I think if that’s your favorite movie, you have my respect, because while it was good I could hardly stand to watch it. It was so heartbreaking, but so true. :(

Trainspotting is a film colleges will be happy to see. How High, on the other hand, not so much.

I get the freak out though. I showed my mother my com app essay where I included a quote from an ancient Egyptian that mentioned beer. She freaked out: “AHHH! THEY’LL THINK YOU’RE AN ALCOHOLIC!”

^Haha, How High. Harold and Kumar might even be a bit risky (although that movie definitely has some redeeming value in its humor).

u r not doing Princeton’s app r u? well i think trainspotting is a pretty good film. Although the contents r a little big of out of the “app/college” league hehe. If u think it’s educational and it’s ur fav for a reason(a good reason) then i think it’s ok otherwise do change it hehe

I agree with everyone else-- Trainspotting should be fine. It’s critically acclaimed, and it’s not the kind of film that makes doing drugs seem awesome, or anything like that.
