I’m a math/computer science major, a few weeks from completing my junior year, and I’ll be working with a team of undergraduates for the LAPD, developing mathematical methodology and software for predictive policing! Totally psyyyyched.

My son and his roommate applied for dozens of jobs and both were hired by the only places to call them back. Roomie is a night stockboy at large discount store, and son will be working as an office assistant at a local auto repair shop. He’s hoping they give him a chance to get his hands dirty in the garage, too!

Probably applying for (and getting turned down as has been my luck recently) for internships and/or some type of employment that’s not an hour bus ride away.

National Youth Theatre Costume course, London College of Fashion course, Interning with Vogue/TeenVogue/Elle Stylist and a fashion designer.

Hopefully all this will help my uni application

Update–rising sophomore with an 8-week nonprofit internship in education. It’s my third day on the job, and they just raised my compensation package to $4,400! :D

Engineering internship dealing with sustainable energy.

I’m graduating in the fall with a Ph.D in electrical engineering. Decided to take a summer off and work for a tech company in the pacific northwest doing research. For a hair less than 3 months, the total compensation (relocation, etc) is about $30k. Sounds like a lot, but keep in mind that I had a perfectly viable undergraduate degree and still decided to continue on in school for 4 more years :D
