What would you do?

I have the option of graduating this summer and attending a small liberal arts school (Oglethorpe U). It's not the school of my dreams and I would probably apply to transfer after my first year (most likely to the Naval Academy or try for Duke or GA Tech), but I absolutely hate high school and I really don't think I could go one more year. My mom seems worried about some tax things nad getting enough money, which is the whole reason why I'm not going to the school as a joint enrollment student.
So what do y'all think I should do? Go to this school as a freshmen, try for joint enrollment at a mediocre GA State or some way tough it out next year?

I would go to the small college. If you have the option of graduating early and you hate highschool there is really no point in staying in highschool or doing dual enrollment. Go to the small school, and give it a fair test for the first semester, and then start applying for other schools as a transfer. Even if it isn't your first choice school it should be better than highschool and it should help prepare you for transfering.

...Anyway that's just my suggestion.

Bump.
Any more ideas?

I'd go to the small college and transfer to a top choice school from there. Not everyone gets a great chance like that! If you hate high school, go for it.

Take Oglethorpe, but realize that has a strong core system which may help at more distribution-based colleges later on, especially Duke a/o GATech.

I have to admit I thought H.S. school sucked and I was ready to leave early and go to college my senior year. But, senior year turned out to be really great and I loved it. Are you still thinking about Oglethorpe? Even though we have a rolling admissions policy, financial aid is arleady being divided up now amoung the accepted students. Oglethorpe gives really generous grants but if you are counting on a large sum of aid in order to go here you may be out of luck. If everything works out and you choose Oglethorpe, beware. There are generally two types of students here, those that love it and those that hate it. Make sure you really WANT to go here and it's not just he lesser of two evils. Don't be the kid that hates his whole experience here. If you have anymore questions just fire me an email.
