WHAT your application packet should contain?? (Nepali Class of 2014)

And hey, I have seen some students put a photocopy of their profile page of TOEFL form… in their application…Is it required ?

@Gurung:

 1. yeah you send the financial aid forms along with the rest of your app.
 2. colleges usually notify when they recieve the application and either give you username/password for status checking or tell you whether your app is complete or not through email itself. but sometimes they might not notify you and in that case you can email and ask about your app status.

^^^
yes you have to attest all photocopied materials…

plz rely #21

where are all these guys???

You have to send in your TOEFL score page. I don’t know what a profile page is. You just send in an attested photocopy of the page with your score on it.

Aren’t TOEFL scores sent online like SAT’s
?

Plz reply to #27. Hey I needed help with financial papers. The forms that are required are namely, Certification of finances, ISFAA, Employers Letter, Bank Statement. Is there anything else???

Its expensive to send SAT and TOEFL scores online, except for the few that come free with the SAT test. You would be better off attesting photocopies.

And that’s about all I sent for the Financial forms.

1) So the adcoms do accept the attested sheets of SAT and TOEFL scores?

2) Is it that in the financial bank statement we Nepali’s are required to show 210k in our bank account? What does bank statement specify?

3) Shouldn’t the employers Letter specify the job and the annual salary only? Is there anything else that needs to be mentioned?

Yes they do.

Who said anything about showing 210k? Just show whatever you have or whatever you’re willing to pay.

Employer’s name and the annual salary. Thats what I did.

1.Almost all colleges do but as far as I remember correctly Bowdoin did not accept the attested copies of scores last year and there might be a few more like that.

Show whatever you have and later if you get accepted with inadequate aid then they will ask you for another bank statement having enough amount.

For no. 3, should the Employer’s letter also indicate the no. of hours per week spent by the student working there?

The employer’s letter is for your parents, not you. But if you have a job, then it doesn’t necessarily need to mention the hours, just if you’re part-time, full-time or an intern.

oh okay thanks for clarifying. I just got confused with something else.

For the bank statement thing…, whom do we need to approach? I know it sounds silly, but where do we file our request inside a bank for that.

Secondly, my parents have account in various banks, So do I require Bank statements from all of them.

Just go to your bank and say that you need a bank statement. Its a standard procedure. They might charge you for it though.

The Cert. of Finances is another matter though. Banks can be extremely difficult about signing onto the form. But usually, if you talk to the manager and explain the situation, they’ll sign it. The ones who give you trouble are the underlings.

Well, do we need to submit bank statements from all those banks in which we have accounts or just one of them?

If you want the school to consider all your accounts while giving you financial aid, then yes, all those banks. Otherwise, whatever you want. Shouldn’t this be obvious?
