In my personal statement I would talk about how at first i wasnt the most focused kid. I knew I was smart and figured everyone else knew it too. Then I saw my gpa at junior year and had alot of growing up to do. My parents almost divorced (signed paper and had it on the counter for 2 months and fought every day for 2 years). My Uncle cheated our family and we incurred huge losses. My mom is collecting disability since beginning of Junior year due to severe vertigo. I had to manage taking care of my mom, AAU Basketball, Varsity Tennis, and the two clubs. [if i got straight As in the first semester of Senior year with those classes would it be believable that im capable and i just went through bad times?). I would also say how due to a family feud, my grandparents -who practically raised me- moved out in December and havent spoken to us since. I would ace all the tests because I knew my stuff, but i would just want to sleep when i got home so I wouldnt have to deal with all the yelling and turmoil in my household. I would also say that from looking at my grades I realized that I wouldnt be able to get through life just Acing tests but I would have to get into the habit of hard work if i wanted to achieve my goals (theyll see the classes i retook regardless of whether they accept them?). This is all true btw. Im also getting a job over summer to help out a bit. Is this remotely decent? Thank you very much to everyone who helps...really! :)
is there anywhere else I would also have a shot at? Thank you!

You forgot to mention the major you wanted to take. Engineering, Business, Pol Sci, History, they all matter accordingly for the different schools you apply to. This may seem unrelated, but in my case it hasn’t; what’s your ethnicity?

And cut off all that unrelated stuff in the bottom unless it’s your actual personal statement.

Your GPA is average to slightly above average, I think. I wouldn’t know since I’m an IB student.

Your SAT scores are phenomenal and consistent. 2380 and 750-780 for your SAT II’s are top level scores.

The UC’s are bit *****ed up this year to be honest. They’ve been mainly been giving priority to the students who are residents of California, especially those who come from Community Colleges within California.

I’d say you have a good, sizeable chance of getting it at almost all the Universities. It just depends mainly on what you are applying for.

For example, you’d have to be exceptional and very driven to get into Berkeley Medical or NYU Stern-Business.
