What're My Chances At UC Davis, Irvine, LA, Berkeley, Johns Hopkins, NYU, and USC?

<p>First off, TY to everyone who helps! Really guys it means alot!
I have a 3.5 weighted GPA and a 3.1 unweighted ( i know...i know im pathetic)
Junior Year:
Expository Reading & Writing
Alg 2 Pre-AP
AP Biology
AP Chemistry
Spanish 3
US History
i got straight Bs first semester because of stupid travel study and ill have 3.1 non weighted at end of the year....Im taking Pre-Calc and Trig at Junior college over summer and taking
AP Calculus
AP Statistics
AP Environmental Science
AP English
AP Politics
Graphic Art
my senior year year and hope to get straight As and appeal to most of the Universities I apply to.
SAT: 2300 (3rd try)
ACT: 33 (approx. 2190 in SAT conversion)</p>

<p>Subject Tests:
Chemistry: 780
Biology: 780
Math 2: 790</p>

<p>AP Test Scores:
Biology: 4
Chemistry: 4</p>

<p>Extra Curriculars:
VP of HOSA [Health Occupations Students of America]
Co-director of first student led recycling program at school
Captain of Varsity Tennis Team (played all 3 years)
AAU Basketball three years and JV Basketball (I made the team for Varsity this year but couldnt make payments) but nonetheless i will include Varsity basketball on my application
156 hours of community service at Hospitals
...I know its not much :(</p>

<p>In my personal statement I would talk about how my parents almost divorced (signed paper and had it on the counter for 2 months and fought every day for 2 years). My Uncle cheated our family and we incurred huge losses. My mom is collecting disability since beginning of Junior year due to severe vertigo. I had to manage taking care of my mom, AAU Basketball, Varsity Tennis, and the two clubs. [if i got straight As in the first semester of Senior year with those classes would it be believable that im capable and i just went through bad times?). I would also say how due to a family feud, my grandparents -who practically raised me- moved out in December and havent spoken to us since. I would ace all the tests because I knew my stuff, but i would just want to sleep when i got home so I wouldnt have to deal with all the yelling and turmoil in my household. This is all true btw. Im also getting a job over summer to help out a bit. Is this remotely decent? Thank you very much to everyone who helps...really! :)
I know I havent done justice to myself and it bothers me every day of my life, but that is going my driving force in Uni.
is there anywhere else I would also have a shot at? Thank you!</p>

<p>A 3.1 GPA probably won’t get you far with the schools named.</p>

<p>But a 3.0 GPA and 1490 SAT CR+M gets you a full ride to University of Alabama - Huntsville. See [UAHuntsville</a> - Entering Freshmen](<a href=“http://www.uah.edu/financial-aid/aid/scholarships/new-freshmen]UAHuntsville”>http://www.uah.edu/financial-aid/aid/scholarships/new-freshmen) .</p>

<p>This may be an important option if your messy family situation causes you to come up short with need-based financial aid (because one or both parents is unable or unwilling to contribute what the financial aid calculations expect the family to contribute to your education).</p>

<p>You have some sweet scores, but you need to get that GPA up. You will get into a fine school and do just fine. Try to work on your time management skills. Best of luck!</p>

<p>What’s your UC GPA?</p>

<p>Unless the worse grades were in 9th grade (not included in UC/CSU GPA), then the UC/CSU GPA of a student who took at least 8 semesters of honors/AP courses in 10th and 11th grades will likely be about 0.3 to 0.4 higher than the unweighted GPA.</p>
