Hi, I'm a junior in high school, and have recetnly been doing a lot of thinking about where to apply next year. My dream school is Yale, and I'd like to know if I have a fighting chance to get in there or a few other schools - I don't want to apply to too many if I don't have a solid chance! My other top schools are Harvard, Pomona, Dartmouth, and Colgate.

I have a 4.0, but this year I'm studying abroad on a CBYX (Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange) scholarship in Germany, so I will be lacking in AP/advanced classes on my transcript. I'll have to take summer school or online classes to make up for my English. I'll be continuing the Japanese immersion program I've been in since kindergarten when I return. I'm fluent in Japanese, have a fairly good control of German, and can speak a little Italian.

The PSAT was horrible for me, but I'm taking the ACT, and all the practice tests I've done puts me at a 33-34 composite.

As far as extracurriculars, I'm a Boy Scout, was Senior Patrol Leader, and am an Eagle Scout. I was co-president of our school's MUN club and a member of Mock Trial. I was on our shool's dragonboat racing team. I plan on continuing all of these when I get back!

Do I have a fighting chance at these schools, or should I look at others? Thanks!

Oh, and my aunt went to Yale and Kennedy School of Government, and I have a long legacy of ancestors at Yale. Does this also help?
