Hi everyone! I’m a little confused as to what it is, how I could qualify, and who I should approach about it. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance.
A Presidential Scholarship is typically the name of the highest scholarship a university offers. Sometimes a university will have a “Trustee’s Scholarship” or “Fellowship” that is higher or comparable. What the actual Presidential Scholarship consists of will vary from university to university. At Cornell, it consists of $8,000 to apply toward a research project, since Ivy’s are not allowed (by their own self-restrictions) to give out merit scholarships, and can only give out need-based scholarships. At other universities, it could be a full-tuition or full-ride scholarship, or possibly a half-tuition scholarship or smaller. It really just depends on the university.
I’m sorry, I mistyped. I was talking about the United States Presidential Scholars Program. I thought that was different from a college Presidential Scholarship. I’m sorry for the confusion
