I keep seeing they care about rigorous schedule for transfers and have no idea what that would be since there are no honors or AP designations (I don't think my school has too many honors classes). What would a rigorous college schedule entail? Or, can you look at mine?

First semester: Writing the Essay (required 4-credit), Cultures and Contexts: Indigenous Autstralia (required 4-credit), Calculus 2 (4-credit), Business Statistics (6-credit), and Leadership (pass/fail 0-credit).

Second semester (tentative): Microeconomics (required 4-credit), Linear Algebra (4-credit), Texts & Ideas (required 4-credit), and something else. Possibly physics.

Colleges recognize that students will need to take many required or lower level coursework their first couple of years. Within those constraints, I think of a rigorous schedule as generally having these qualities:

At least a full load, usually about 15 credits. Dropping courses and carrying the minimum ‘full time’ course load, about 12 credits would not be considered rigorous, no matter what the level of the classes.

No pass/fail grades for academic classes.

No ‘underwater basket weaving’ classes. If these are non-credit courses on top of your regular classes is fine, but not as part of your regular course load.

As much as possible, higher level coursework. This could be achieved by AP coursework or placement tests, concentrating in a specific area of study, etc.

When multiple versions of the course are offered, the one for those majoring in the subject is considered more rigorous. E.g. honors physics for physics majors > physics for physics majors > physics for biology majors and pre-meds > physics for poets.

Whether it matters depends on who is looking at the transcript.

urs looks pretty good,18 units are very rigorous, over 18 will means almost no time outside the class, so if you want to do some ECs, leave some room

here is my schedule this semester. … i almost have no time outside to do clubs or any part-time job, i try to transfer in 1.5 years (i missed one semester, so …)

Critical Thinking(second English class) 3units
Discrete Math 4 units
Multivariables Calculus 5units
Linear Alegbra 3units
Phyiscs w/ calculus 5units

My next semester:
Differential equations 3units
Philosophy/Art/Music 3+3+3 units (GE requirment)
Statistics 4units
Physcis 5units
