What's an acceptable courseload for freshmen? (pre-Haas)

I'll be applying to Haas and I want to know if this is a doable courseload...

2 Haas prereqs (probably Math 1a and Econ 1)
2 breadth requirements
1 foreign language

A lot of CC's have been saying that 2 prereqs and 2 breadths are reasonable for freshmen. Will taking an extra foreign language class be too much or should I change it to 1 breath and 1 foreign language?

I forgot to add that I’m considering doing work study too. I’m not sure how much I’ll be working and how much that will affect my study time…

I heard foreign language classes are really tough. They are, after all, 5 units and they meet every day during the weekdays.

I would say its not a good idea since you would be taking 19 (2 3 unit breadths included) units and doing work study at the same time.

This would mean absolutely NO free time. Don’t you want your first semester to be joyful and fun?

Nah, that’s not a good schedule. You want to keep it to around 15 units your first semester. I recommend 14 units so you can chillax. Chillaxing is very important.

Yeah, I didn’t realize that foreign language classes are 5 units. That is a little bit too rigorous, I’ll cut it down a few units.

From what I’ve heard, people regret taking a heavy load in their first semester, so I’d bring it down a bit in units. Take some seminars or decals. At Calso, they will explain more to you.

thats a pretty hard schedule
i’d recommend spreading out your haas pre reqs for the 4 semesters as even as possible.
and language classes are definitely a pain. most are everyday of the week and many are 8am classes. which are WAYYY harder than you think they are
