i’m applying to barnard, but i don’t know if i could handle being around girls all the time. i mean, being around guys allows a sort of relief from the cattiness that a lot of girls have in them. i was in an all-womens chorus once, and i just remember a lot of unnecessary cattiness and drama over nothing. i like that barnard is connected with columbia, but is it like the experience i mentioned at all? and also because it’s such a small college, is there bound to be more of everyone knowing about what you’re all about, etc.?

If you search around this thread a bit you will find this addressed many times. however, long story short, there ARE boys around...even in Barnard classes and in Barnard dorms as well.

As for the smallness of it, I know my daughter has enjoyed that aspect immensely. Great friendships and wonderful relationships with professors.
