What is it like to be a Petro Engineer? Do all PetEs have to travel a lot, especially when you first graduate? Can you still make good money if you only travel a few days a month? I've been told both: you have to travel and stay on rigs for weeks at a time. you only have to go out a couple of days at a time at the most. I already have an MBA so I don't know if that would make a difference in me getting more of a management/office job. It's not that I'm against traveling but I'm going to be 28 when I graduate and don't want to put off having kids until I'm 40.

Also any information about different career paths PetE hold would be much appreciated.
