getting all As in high school or getting all As in college (aka working hard in high school vs. working as hard/harder in college)? (assuming you apply to college and grad school) I heard getting top grades in college is harder, but a lot of applicants don't go to grad school, so it sort of evens out...

High school. I don't know if I'll need to go to grad school depending on my job, but I'd rather get a B in college than a B in HS.

I think college will be more important if you do plan on going to a specialized carrier (medicine for example) that needs grad school work...

It really depends on what you mean they are important for. The grades are really only important for what comes directly after them.

For a person going to undergrad and grad school, High school grades are only important for getting into an undergrad. Undergrad grades are only important for getting into a grad. Grad school grades are only important for getting your first job. When you are looking for a new job at the age of 45, they aren't going to ask what you got in AP Chem.
