what's the admit rate for instate?

i know LA's overall admit rate was 23.3% for fall 2007, but what was the admit rate just for instate students? that is, not counting out of state or international applicants, because it's harder for them to get accepted. for example, i heard that the acceptance rate for OOS was 13% last year, but what about the rate for just instate?

OOS state admissions was higher than instate oO;; I thought it was 24.8 for Instate and 25% for OOS.

It harder, but also, less apply.

Where did you hear this? Anyway, the admit rates alone say nothing about the quality of the pools.

yea i think the OOS people who applied had better stats overall, so i wouldn't be suprised if OOS acceptance rate was higher (which i think it was... slightly...)
i think it was between 22-25 for both... very close

Oddly enough, in UCLA's common data set, "state residency" is "not considered."

http://www.aim.ucla.edu/data/campus/general/CDS2006_2007.pdf

p.9

Contrast that with Berkeley's, which says that state residency is "very important" (as important as GPA, rigor of course load, and essays).

http://cds.berkeley.edu/pdfs/PDF%20wBOOKMARKS%2006-07.pdf

^I heard that being OOS puts you at a disadvantage when registering for classes at Berkeley too. That would suck big time.

My tour guide at UCLA told me that the OOS % was something like 1% higher than In-State. But the quality of OOS applicants is much more than 1% greater.

Really? How does that work?

According to my friends, the OOS always seem to get called last. There isn't preferential treatment for Regents/Peer Counseling, and everything else just goes by units. And I thought URSA was bad o__o;;
