<p>Hi! I'm a senior from Michigan applying to Pomona. Unfortunately, I haven't had a chance to visit yet and there are no alum in my area, so I was hoping that some of you (either students or prospectives) could describe the atmosphere at Pomona. Are the majority of students competitive or laid-back? Do they have friends from the other colleges? Are the profs accessible? How would you describe the academic and social atmosphere? What is the weather like? Warm and sunny, of course - but all year 'round? ... and anything else you would like to add! Thanks!</p>
<p>If you haven't already, I'd strongly recommend downloading the 82-page Pomona</a> Viewbook which includes several student bios and comes across pretty accurately in my opinion. Our D attends and loves it. She called earlier week to say it was 85 degrees, sunny, no humidity, and she was studying French while lying out at the pool. Nice.</p>

<p>Laid back, accessible, and nice weather all year round, a bit on the nerdy side. That was the feel I got when I visited.</p>
