What's the average high school size?

<p>Mine's about 1000 students.</p>

<p>I'm in a class of appx. 225, ranked 16th as freshie.</p>

<p>Is my school small?</p>

<p>mine's ~1500 kids (the middle school is 3000, and split into 2 h.s.'s, I'm estimating)
our class size is 320. We have the smallest class of all 4 years.
It's gonna be so hard for all the girls to get in...there are 27 girls and 5 guys in the top 10%.</p>

<p>on long island its probably like 1500 maybe, nationally i would take a guess at somewhere just under 1000</p>

<p>i'd say for a public school the average is probably about 1000 from what I've seen. (this takes into account small rural schools with less than 100 students as well as huge urban schools with as many as 8000)</p>

and around 12-15 per grade and the boy: grl ratio in some grades is 50/50 while in my grade in a class of 12 theres 11 boys its weird</p>

<p>Mine is just over 200 students, with 50 students in the class of '07. I'd say that's pretty small. :p</p>

<p>Mine's 3600 and growing, and the other school in our district is (overcrowded at) 4100. </p>

<p>Soon we will have a third high school in our district. </p>

<p>Not very many larger HS's in the country, I'm guessing.</p>

<p>A friend and I had a small disagreement on the average size of high schools. I've been told before that my school of ~1800 is kinda large, while schools with like 3,000+ are like ginormous. I would think the average is around 1000.</p>

<p>Says the average is 752 in 2000. So, seven years later, it's probably nearer 1000.</p>

<p>the old Sachem HS was 4600 students, Brentwood right now would be 5300 but they built a freshman center</p>

<p>The high school in my district has 507 students, but five years ago it was only 400.</p>

<p>mine's around 2000, its the only public high school in town, though, so it fluctuates based on how many people are in a certain grade. there are about 550 in my grade now.</p>

<p>i go to a catholic high school that has 1400 students. there's 334 students in my grade, although originally there was 360 although some transferred. i'm numero dix:D</p>

<p>My S's junior class has 65 kids. It's a 6-12 school, with about 60-65 kids per grade.</p>
