What's the best ACT prep book?

^^ yeah... they are easier... but they are good for some fast practice (i used them to boost my confidence a little because i always owned the mcgraw-hill tests)

^ lol you aren't the only one ;D somehow on their crazy scale got a 37 on math

oh with their +1 or -2 or -0 correction.. yeah, those are crap... i just take my raw score and see what my scaled score would be from the real act book

I have the Kaplan 2004 edition.....is it still rely good for reading?

I personally haven't used it, but Kaplan does seem to be the clear favorite for ACT Reading prep. I have heard that it is the best for reading strategies and practice.

I have PR, which is good for everything except reading. Its reading section (strategies, advice) is awful, but the practice tests are still adequate (including reading).

In conclusion, YES, Kaplan is very good for reading (considered the best) The 2004 edition is very similar to the newer versions, with the more recent books having a few revisions and additions to the original. The 2004 one should be fine. So if you are trying to raise your reading score, you have a great book!

thx schoolsearching!

I'm kinda stuck...

My Reading is a 20 so I want it to go up...

But I want my English (24), Math (26), and Science (26) to go up as well...

I will get the Red Book but would Kaplan do the job to get at least a 28 or a 30?

Kaplan was really good for my reading.. i went from getting 21s and 23s and 25s on the reading section to getting 32s and 34s on the reading section in a matter of a couple of months thanks to Kaplan

and the Red book (Real ACT book) is really good since it's made up of former real ACTs

Is the Kaplan CD worth it?

and which Kaplan ACT book should I get to improve my Reading (link).

I got a 20.

what about for science
