What's the best major to earn a Top-Tier MBA?

I am currently an undecided student at the University of Maryland College Park. I am a first semester freshman. I know I want to earn an MBA after I finish my undergrad; but I don't know what major to choose. What majors are typically good choices for a student in my situation? What major will help me get into best MBA program? What major will lead to highest salary, when added together with an MBA?

You should choose a major you can actually be good at… Math tends to be the best if you’re looking into finance…

Uh don’t most people go for their MBA after a few years of working?

Anyway I figure finance or math would be good. I say math because if you can do well as a math major it means you’re a very good thinker.

I read somewhere that accounting and finance are top programs. There were other stuff on this list, but I cannot remember. UMD has a top 10 IT focused business program according to US News.

work experience is most important. If you’re an analytical math type of person, then go ahead and do accounting or finance or math. If you like engineering, then go do that. I dont think majors really matter that much. If anything, a less popular major and profession may help, as MBA programs like to have a diverse group of people with many backgrounds
