<p>So SandyRun you work at Kumon also. I hate to digress from the topic of the thread, but how much do you get paid? I have a feeling I'm being ripped of. And are you like me, and most of the tutoring/grading is acutally grading but are happy because you can still say you tutored?</p>
<p>well for the first 200 hours i spent working there, I was a grader...but after that I transferred to tutoring. I get paid $8.50/hour. May I ask in what state your Kumon center is located?</p>

<p>Ok duke, that might be true. Care to enlighten me why specifically though? My weighed GPA is a bit more than yours. I'm a Freshmen and am taking IB/AP Classes. I work 2-3 hours a day and still manage to maintain a solid ~3.6 at a Magnet IB School. My ECs are not bad either (Debate - Highest number of wins for a novice, Political Forum, Philosophy, SGA - Sponsored legislation to help kids in Nepal (Raised more than $2000). Not to mention I've been in the US for ~2 years (placed out of ESOL). I didn't even know what "GT Classes" were but my teachers recognised some spark in me and placed me in High Schools. I don't play sports but I'm planning on trying out for Volleyball next year (I couldn't this year as I didn't have my physical done). Scored a 170 on the PSAT (according to the kind people at CC, that's pretty good). Calling everyone in your World History class "idiots" doesn't quite strike me as being mature. Stats aren't everything and just because you might be going to Duke doesn't make you better than me.</p>
<p>I do all my clubs because I love them not to pamper my resume (or because my Indian parents pressure me to pursue a career in Medicine - No offence meant, I myself am an Indian)</p>

<p>Just a tip : It's not recommended to have a dream school, especially not one as selective as Duke. Good luck in your application.</p>
