M Street is really big for shopping and restaurants. There are a lot of trendy high-end botiques, bookstores, etc.

There's a good balance between chain stores (Urban Outfitters, American Eagle, Banana Republic, J. Crew, Barnes & Noble, and so on) and smaller, more one-of-a-kind boutiques.

not to mention H & M...aka best store ever...
M Street isn't extremely cheap, but it is very cool.

I'll just say that I visited Gtown on a disgusting, muddy, POURING RAIN day and I still fell in love with it. It was cold and I was miserable, but I was still about to see how beautiful it is. I knew that's where I wanted to be.

Applied EA-- can't wait to hear. AHHH!

The problem I'm gonna have with Georgetown is having enough money to go out to dinner all the time. I've been there a couple times and nobody likes eating at Leo's. I'm not gonna be in the red very quickly if I end up blowing 60 bucks a weekend for dinner and brunch.

so the restaurants are expensive there? Are there any affordable ones?

Oh there are definitely inexpensive ones. They have a pretty broad spectrum to choose from. In fact, choosing a place to eat took us about 45 minutes. There seemed like there were multiple restaurants for whatever type of food you wanted.

Just to give you the idea:

wow ur right there are a lot of restaurants to choose from

Don't people eat at the Cafeteria too?

i always eat at leo's...except when there's a reason to go out to eat. leo's is convenient and 'free' for the lazy and cheap college student

Didnt some Georgetown kid get killed two years ago? I remember a kid on crew at Zaga told me they found a dead body floating in the Anacostia and that it was a Gtown student.

A lot more people die then you think at college, but what's with the random death reference?

I don't know anything about someone dying in the Anacostia (which by the way is nowhere neare Georgetown). I think it was 2 years ago that a student got killed in a fire in one of the townhouses, though.
