I see a lot of people asking about summer programs at universities, what are the benefits, why do them? Am i suppose to do them>

Um, you're "supposed" to do what you want to do! People go to various summer programs for various reasons. Some go to prestigious ones like TASP and RSI to boost college applications and to really challenge their minds. Some go to pre-college programs at universities to get credits, learn more about a subject they enjoy, and to experience college before they go. Some study abroad to increase their cultural understanding. But most of us are just trying to pursue our passions while we have the freedom of not being in school.

is tasp good? Some people told me supposedly it's for the lower income people that don't have as much oppurtunities.

Not necessarily true. I'm definately not lower-income but I'm a TASP finalist anyway.

You don't have to have limited opportunities and no money to be a good essay writer. =/

TASP is for anyone who can express him/herself well.

nope, that's questbridge

tasp is completely meritocratic + a little AA

AA? How does that come into play? (I can rhyme- yay!)

so does it help my application with the more programs i got into?
