What's the deal with this "Campus Diversity" thing?

Okay so im an ok student (id say) A- average throughout High School. My high school consists of a lot of Indo- European Americans, such as myself (Italian- American). My AP teacher said that each of us have a better shot at schools like Harvard, Yale, Princeton than we believe. Now of course, none of us (that i know of) are applying to these schools. But im wondering if schools like that would take us just to make their school that much more diverse? If any 1 can shed some light on that feel free to i was just wondering.

You will be checking off caucasian so I don't see how it will affect your application.

Also, I would truly see how much you feel your teacher is an informed source. One of D's teachers is pushing some narrow minded advice on the kids. I have told D to ignore him. (I mean part of what the guys would be true for certain kids but he is giving his advice universally.) Depending, your teacher may have an opinion without foundation. If he/she does have a foundation, I would love to know it.

There was a whole thread a while back on is "Greek" a urm. Same idea.

Actually hes an AP grader for the collegboard. As for the caucassian thing some schools ask you to describe your ethnicity (idk if those skools do tho). I think he was talking more about the GPA and stuff rather than the ethnicity n e way. But idk i wuzz jw

My suggestion is to go back to your teacher and ask him to clarify his position.
