What's the most insane "chance me" stats you've ever seen?

What’s the point of building a nuclear reactor in one’s home? It seems dangerous. Besides, that does not count because it was not posted as a “chance me” thread on College Confidential.

The kid is a ■■■■■ because instead of politely saying he is being honest, he has been cursing me out left and right through PM. So glad I told the moderators though.

The craziest chance me thread I’ve seen was from a valedictorian with a 35 ACT, three subject tests totaling 2370, a national community service award, national AP scholar as a junior, AND, a recruited athlete.

@sherpa‌ I know at least 20 people like that IRL…

@dividerofzero you know more than 20 valedictorians and recruited athletes?

@dividerofzero does your school have more than 1 valedictorian? :-?

@Jarjarbinks23 Yes, even if you assume my school has only one valedictorian. Community service + academics aren’t that tough to do well at imho, especially when it’s the generic stuff that many people go for. They certainly don’t separate one from the herd. The recruited athlete part, ofc, is where it narrows down- but yeah I do know plenty of people at that level who did will in academics and are recruited athletes. To be fair, I know people from a large number of schools.

And yes we do have multiple valedictorians- over 20- although that’s partly due to administrative policy in which only our four core courses are granted an extra point (to prevent people from taking blow-off AP’s like Art and Euro Hist just to boost their GPA instead of pursuing their real interests that may not be offered as AP/Honors courses). The downside is that we never know our real class rank beyond top 5 (which they have to release for scholarship eligibility).

@dividerofzero XD how many salutatorians are there? 20 as well?

@Jarjarbinks23‌ Nope. Only ~5. Once you get that first B, the motivation drops because the only thing that matters at that point is being in the top 7% (or 10%) so you get auto-admitted to UT or A&M.

The sad part is that all of our salutatorians got that one B from the same particularly corrupt English teacher- who’s now head of the department. My school’s headed downhill.

This guy is probably a ■■■■■, but…

Based on all the “probably a ■■■■■” comments here, it looks like half of my role models aren’t even real people.

This person has really insane stats.
