oh, i loved that book. you could actually understand problems and concepts by reading the book, and the problems were much more reasonable and definitely more educational. hard problems are fine...but some of the ones in Stewart seem to be obscene exercises in algebraic simplification.</p>
<p>though i will say that once you get into the Calc III portion of the book, the explanations get much better. at least chapters 13 and 14 were pretty good. the actual multivariable portion remains to be seen...</p>
