What's the school for me?

I'm looking for a school with a decent marching band. Obviously then it has to have a football team, maybe also a lacrosse team so i can catch some good lacrosse games. I'm taking engineering, probably computer. I'm also thinking about information technology.

here are some of my stats off the top of my head

UWGPA: 3.33
WGPA: 4.0

*these don't include the A's i got for physics accel i took over the summer. hopefully that will bring my GPA up.

ACT: 28
* i retook it yesterday, hopefully it'll go up

SAT: CR-600
M-680
W-510
* should i take the dec sat?

all accel classes
4 AP's senior yr

EC's:
marching band
wind ensemble
orchestra
chorus
percussion ensemble
Drum Corps
Indoor winter drumline
brass impact
pit orchestra (theater)
football fr-jr.
outdoor/indoor lacrosse fr.-sr.
a few more i can't think of

Thanks!

Any large state school, obviously, would be passable. Just not University of Wisconsin.

yeah i have no interest in UW. I have applications ready to send to UMich Ann Arbor, UIUC, and Purdue. I'm trying to stay out of warm climate states like cali and florida. any suggestions?

Good. Maybe something in the Big East? Pitt, UConn?

thanks amciw. anyone else have any input?

Penn State?

hmm...penn state looks like a school i should consider. thanks!
keep the suggestions coming!

Oh, lel, forgot them. And I don't even hate their football team. Maybe OSU?

UT Austin.
Ironically, I'm trying to steer away from it (b/c I'm in TX and don't wanna go to the same state).

i've looked at UT, but i don't know if i wanna go to texas..

See Austin for yourself before you say you don't want to go to Texas. It's a lot different then what you think, as it was for me.

well im thinking like hot, dry weather. can you describe what its like?

If you prefer warm weather and you are interested in engineering, then consider Virginia Tech.

i actually don't prefer warm weather, one reason why i'm avoiding texas

Ohio State -- TBDBITL! (The Best Damn Band In The Land!) Seriously, marching bands don't come any better than OSU. Plus, looks like OSU would be a match with your statistics and interest in engineering and computer technology.

i don't know if i'm a fan of osu's traditional style. like the strap on drums, and the high knee marching.

But you might get to dot the 'i', which would be pretty cool.

sorry, dot the i?

U. of Tennessee at Knoxville, TN has a marching band, because I passed the field where they were practicing late this past summer.

I don't know a thing about the quality of the band or the engineering dept., sorry.

To be honest, a 3.3 uw gpa is not going to get you into Michigan. TOSU is a better chance for what you're looking for.
