Thanks!

Seems like you really love music - are you looking for a school with a strong music program as well? And is there anything else you can tell us about what kind of school you want (urban, LAC, etc)?

academically, not really. i dropped the idea of majoring in music.
but extracurriculars like marching band, that would be a plus

i'm looking more into big schools with a solid athletic program (so i can go see some good football/basketball games, etc.), that are somewhat urban, but not too big of a city like chicago, but definitely not too rural.

I'm really leaning towards Purdue right now

why doesn't anyone like replying to my threads

Ruggs Group 1: University of Illinois, Illinois Institute of Technology, Iowa State, Miami U. (OH), Rose-Hulman, U of Wisconsin, U of Michigan.....those are some listed from your area and most are medium or large institutions.

Have you tried an online college matching service to find some more options? College confidential's search allows you to search based on a few criteria or you can try myUsearch. They ask several questions in order to match you with the right schools.

Any of the following seem like good matches: Oberlin, Kenyon, U Michigan, Michigan State, Perdue, U of Indiana, Depaw, Denison, Carleton College (might be a reach). This is a pretty broad range in terms of size and all offer top notch academics. It all depends on the type of town you want to be in and the size of the student body. Good luck!

Based on your academic stats many of those are reaches. If you are interested in the latest list then look up the common data sets to see how you fit. Purdue is a good match.

What about DePaul?

Depaul is a little too close to me, and i don't know if the big city life is for me

thanks for the suggestions keep the coming!

bump10char

wow..........

You should be looking at Illinois, Georgia Tech, Texas, and Purdue. Texas, Illinois and Georgia Tech are match with Purdue being a safety school.
For a reach school, look at Michigan

for those people that are suggesting schools like DePaul and Oberlin, there are no engineering programs at those schools so why are you giving him those schools?

thanks a lot pierre! I'm actually doing the exact thing you suggested, except for gt and texas

bump10char

nobody else?

wow...really???
