I’m a junior from the US and i’m trying to figure out if U of T is a good fit. It seems like the perfect school for me as it fits everything I want in a university, but I’ve heard it’s awful there. I’ve heard that the students and professors are awful, and that you’re guaranteed to have poor mental health and suicidal thoughts while there. I’m pretty sure I can get in, and am looking at studying either English or some type of History at St. George(preferably Innis College). Please help!
Is it possible to go visit and draw your own conclusions?
DD and I had a full-day visit in February 2016. She was admitted (St. George, A&S, Trinity) and U of T remains one of her top schools. In addition to the scheduled tours, are there any programs that could help her better understand daily life?
@whistlingamelody If you read reddit, that’s what you’ll hear. It’s where current students go to kvetch. Don’t take it seriously. It’s certainly not awful at U of T.
@DadofThree111 Here’s a link to the resources from the Trinity website: http://www.trinity.utoronto.ca/prospective/newly-admitted/newadmit.html The spring orientation would probably be the best at helping to understand daily life, but it doesn’t happen until June.
There are several of us on the board who have attended U of T or who have children who have attended. I was at Trinity and have a current student at Trinity. If you have any questions, just ask!
