What's with the ridiculous AP Calc BC curve?

<p>Any interesting comments on the posts 32 and 33 … Now that the situation has changed due to CB new policy. Now the accepted justification from posts 32 and 33 no longer hold good. And it says 85% without the penalty as the estimate. … but the curve seems sort of unaffected.</p>

<p>So, math whizzes from CC, what is your take on this newly defined possible raw score for 5? The new scoring change prediction from CB of almost plus 3 points in the case of 5 is pertaining to the “past” data. So, now that the students “know” there is no penalty, the approach might be difficult.</p>

<p>do you all still think 69 or 70 out of the total 108 should be a safe 5?</p>

<p>I’ve always wondered this as well.
However, in my school the Calc teachers use past AP problems or problems that are even harder than them, and of course you need 94% to get an “A,” so people that deserve A’s get them and they have no trouble getting a 5 on the AP test.</p>
