Does anyone know the curves for the released AP Calculus BC exams?

I think 75-80/108 is a 5.

Well, from what i remember from taking it last year (and seeing the grading scale of released exams, etc.) I'm pretty sure it's a bit gentler than that, more around 70-74/108 but whatever. If you get 72% or so on almost any AP test it will be a five.

It's ~65/108 for a 5 on the three released exams I've seen.

That sounds right to me. I remember the curve being ridiculously gentle. If you know AB perfectly, you could probably five the test with only rudimentary BC knowledge, which explains why 43%+ get a five on it.

The cut scores for the AP Calc exams are only published when an exam is released. The last time for the AP Calc was in 2003. The 2008 exam will be released after the 2009 exam.

For the BC test in 2003, if my memory serves me, 64-108 was a 5. Usually the AB test is 70% (5), 60% (4), 50% (30), etc. The BC test is a few points lower at the top and a few higher near the bottom.

its about 70% for a 5
50% for a 4
35% for a 3

wow so there is hope after all

thanks lol, i really do have hope now GOOD LUCKY TO EVERYONE, just a few more hours for me

like 2 hours and 5 minutes. :) I'm cramming at the moment.

Good Luck!

Good luck everyone.. I've got it in an hour or so X_X

Ahh it is over.
It was really predictable what was going to be on it.

What did you think?

70% for a 5 in AB, it's closer to 60%/65% for BC.

can anyone starta chem ap thread?
lol im screwed for that gg><
i thought calc was pretty damn ez this time around. (took ab last year and felt more confident on this one)

Like 50% of people get a 5 on the BC exam so I assume the curve is pretty lenient.

Well, that has more to do with the quality of the students than the curve.

I disagree. You make it sound like AB kids are intellectually inferior to BC kids. They're both AP! Since AB median score (2.93) isn't even close to the BC score (3.7), something has to be up more than the quality of the kids.

BC Scaled Score Description

66–108 5 Extremely well qualified

54–65 4 Well qualified

36–53 3 Qualified

29–35 2 Possibly qualified

0–28 1 No recommendation

wow, 66 for a 5? That's even lower than I expected. I think it'll be around 70 or so for this test administration though.
