What's your all-nighter life like?

Do you snack your way through it? Do you listen to music? Do you have break-down?

For me, I put up with it for as long as I could, but sometime my brain do this thing where it trick me to jump into bed and roll around for the satisfaction of "resting" but then I would pass out, and wake up with guilt. Another thing that come with it is the anxiety of having to come up with the plan B afterward; like what period of the day should I divide out the time to finnish the rest of the homework. Once in a while I though that I did a pretty amazing job at doing last minute stuff and that I'm spontaneous..but then it's not really that.

I use energy drinks and try to finish my hmwks as soon as possible. There have been occasions when it’s just like you said: I would tell myself to rest/sleep for half an hour before resuming, but instead slept for like 3 hrs.

I’m always like “yeah! I’m going to get so much done!” Then I spend like 2 hours getting comfortable, get like half my homework done, decide its not worth it, and fall asleep.

Generally I listen to music even though it further distracts me just so I don’t hate myself too much for staying up. Then I’ll go downstairs, eat, and then rant about my academic misfortunes via text to one of my friends, they’ll roll their eyes and say that it’s my fault for taking the classes that I do, and why didn’t I just take honors, etc. Then I give up, go sleep, and wake up early the next day to finish or I just don’t care enough to finish period.

I also listen music when my mind is sick by study. You can try this when bore and want to refresh your mind. I think don’t take much sleep at this times.

For me, it’s nonexistent.

Yeah, I haven’t experienced an all-nighter yet, but I hear that in junior year, it’s a common occurrence.

I normally end up on my laptop for most of the night just chilling rather than getting any actual work done, so I don’t normally do the all-nighter thing anymore.

Why the crap do high school students need to do this? You’re doing something wrong if resorting to all-nighter.

I rarely ever pull all nighters, but one of the times I did, I watched all of Gone With the Wind while dibble dabbling between some work and studying. Usually I only pull an all nighter when I’m restless, not for purely academic obligations.

Never pulled an all-nighter.

I’ve only had to pull one semi-all-nighter, but that was only because I got off of work at 11:30 and had a project due the next day. But even then I didn’t stay up all night. 3 AM was when I went to sleep and I just went in late the next day.

I don’t pull all-nighters. No homework is worth it. Sleep is the number one priority.

The same night that my EA application for Yale was due, I pulled an all-nighter for a paper on the Wasteland. Bah. Started after midnight because of the need to get that application in (funnily enough, I was deferred -> rejected). Ended up with <30 minutes of sleep. I don’t remember much from that night (even though it was only a few months ago), but I do remember that I listened to a lot of music and ate a ton of junk food.

Yeah…instead of music, sometime I go for a whole movie thinking that I can do homework in between, but ahaha…nope.

nonexistent. latest I ever had to stay up in HS was about 3:30 (for school). Still nonexistent in college.
